Many of the photographs shown in this gallery were taken with a 35mm camera from the 1970s to the 1990s. They have since been scanned and prepared, digitally, in order to be presented in this web site. They represent imagery of the Southwestern landscape, mostly on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. Navajo Mountain and the surrounding area was a location I visited once or twice a year.
Photographs were made during hiking and camping trips taken in the summer months, especially when monsoon clouds and rain filled the vast Southwestern sky in a daily cyclical pattern - abstract skies. They served as inspiration for my paintings as well as offered specific imagery with which to compose complete works of art.
